Version 0.1 deployed


Today is a nice milestone. It might not look like most, but it was quite a change from the first version.

For starters I decided to use Phaser.io for the presentation. While game menus are and will stay pure html, for the gameplay itself was not working as I wanted, and it makes no sense to reinvent the wheel when there are a few good engines out there.

This will also allow me to do some interesting things with firing and collision detection, which would be much more time consuming going the html dom route.

The player ships are still html, for now, but for sake of completeness they will be moved into the canvas.

So on this update we got increased width on the game window, new fonts, sounds, music, new enemy ship sprites, new projectile sprites, new explosion effects, new parallax backgrounds, and tidy up the look and feel of the navigation. A note that the upgrade screen will still be changed again, as I want a different kind of presentation for it. But nothing to discuss further at the moment.
